Proposition W
Proposition W on August 3 ballot
Full cycle of street repairs can be completed as tax rate is lowered
Proposition W is a $13 million bond issue that would complete a full cycle of Webster street repair and restoration and still lower the city's property tax rate. With Proposition W, the city can repair 11 miles of deteriorating concrete streets and 9 miles of asphalt streets even as the tax rate on debt service drops 11.8 cents.
Going into the new fiscal year, the city's financial position is bolstered by an upgrade in its bond rating to Aa1 by Moody's Investors Service. This improved bond rating has helped set the stage for Proposition W.
All registered voters in the City of Webster Groves can vote on Proposition W on Tuesday, August 3.
