1. I would like to get a copy of a report that the Webster Groves Police Department recently wrote for me. What do I do?

Contact the Webster Groves Records Unit located at #4 South Elm Avenue. Records Unit hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday (excluding holidays). Pricing is $4.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page.

2. What number should I call in case of emergency?

In case of emergency, whether police or fire, call 911.

3. What should I do if I believe I may be the victim of an identity theft/identity crime?

Contact the Police Department in person or by calling 314-645-3000 to request a report and initiate an investigation.

Gather as much information as possible relating to the identity theft.

6. I am a business owner, and I have received a check that has been returned for insufficient funds, or the account has been closed. What can I do?

First, bring the original check to the Webster Groves Police Department's Records Unit, located at #4 South Elm Avenue. You must complete a "Request for 10 Day Letter" form (available below). The original check will be held as evidence. You will receive a copy of the form, and a copy of your check for your records. The Webster Groves Police Department will send a notification to the individual or party responsible for the check, directing payment to be made. If payment is not made within 10 days of mailing the letter, the Criminal Investigations Unit will initiate an investigation.

The Criminal Investigations Unit encourages business owners to request identification writers, and verify it, it is important to include this information on the check itself. Request for 10 Day Letter

7. I am leaving on vacation. What can be done to protect my home while I am gone?

- Arrange for a neighbor, friend, or relative to pick up your mail. If this isn't possible, contact the Postal Service to arrange for a temporary stop of delivery.
- Contact the paper delivery service to request a temporary stop of delivery.
- If possible, leave a vehicle in the driveway.
- Use electrical timers set at various times to activate lights and other electronic devices to give the appearance that the home is occupied.
- Don't announce your plans to leave; keep the notifications to a minimum.
- In case of emergency, leave a key with a trusted neighbor, friend, or relative. Contact the Webster Groves Police Department at 314-645-3000 to request a Vacation Patrol. Officers will check the exterior of the residence at various times during their patrol.
