The Finance Department is responsible for a wide variety of accounting and administrative functions and includes three divisions:
The Accounting Division is responsible for most financial functions of the City, as well as for budget preparation. Responsibilities include payroll, accounts payable, cash management and investment, debt administration, cash disbursements and establishing internal controls. All activities conducted are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and Federal and State regulations. The Municipal Court is also a part of the Accounting Division.
Customer Service Division
The Customer Service Division provides a “one-stop shop” to residents, businesses, contractors and the general public for building permits, business licenses, and paying fees.
Information Technology Division
The Information Technology Division is responsible for providing centralized support of the City’s network and computer systems. Staff is responsible for installing and maintaining all computer-related hardware and software executed on these systems, as well as providing guidance for short-range and long-range goals.
